This turned out to be the perfect learning environment, working as the lone employee under the owner Robb, a skillful, veteran fence builder. His philosophy was focusing on one job at a time, providing quality craftsmanship, and giving extreme attention to detail on each fence project. This was where Kelly developed his appreciation for working in the outdoors surrounded by the beauty of Colorado.

He learned woodworking and metalworking, leading him to focus his attention on furniture making and built in installations. He did work for residential clients building chairs, coffee tables, dining tables etc. to commercial clients fully furnishing multiple co-working spaces. Kelly still enjoys furniture making as a hobby but much prefers working outdoors to working in a shop environment. He returned to fence building full time, reinvigorated with a new set of skills and level of precision.
